The 7 Pot got its name because its thought that just one of these chillies is enough to add heat to 7 pots of stew. Slightly milder than its red and chocolate counterparts.

Though never officially crowned, the Dorset Naga was thought to be the world's hottest chilli in the mid 2000s, and one of the first chillies whose pods measured in above 1 million SHU.

The Bih Jolokia is a close relative of the previous world record holder the Bhut Jolokia, measuring in at over 1 million SHU, but slightly smaller, sweeter and less bitter in taste.

One of our favourite chillies, the Bhut Jolokia Chocolate is slightly milder than the red Bhut but still stupidly hot, with a richer flavour profile that is surprisingly fruity.

A Habanero/Scotch Bonnet variety that produces large, juicy pods that are very hot, around 300,000 SHU. A good introduction to very hot chillies.

The Big Jim pepper just warms, doesn't burn - only nips, never bites! If you enjoy flavour over heat, the Big Jim is perfect - fruity and sweet like a capsicum, with a very mild chilli kick.

The perfect patio plant, producing erect growing and multi-coloured pods, that change from ivory to purple to yellow to orange, maturing to red. Small but spicy measuring in at about 30,000 SHU.

Best known as the chilli used to make genuine Hungarian Paprika, which is richer than store bought paprika, the Boldog Hungarian has a sweet, spicy flavour.

The golden cousin of the prolific Cayenne Red, this beautiful chilli matures to a bright yellow and has a slightly sweeter tang than it's red counterpart.
